We have eaten there several times and so far have not been disappointed! The seafood is FRESH and abundant. The salads are large and the mostly fried seafood is so good. You order and pay at the counter and they deliver it to your table. The only neg I have is one member of our group does not like seafood and her fried chicken fingers (huge portion) was fishy and she could not eat it.

I resisted going to this place for a long time. The lines are always crazy on a weekend and there are so many nice little places to go but one weekday evening I was in the mood for some plain and simple fried fish. We just moved into the neighborhood and thought we'd walk down and have dinner. I was a bit unprepared for the routine. When you walk in there are menus posted and as you stand there you have to quickly look it over and order and pay at the counter before you're seated. I didn't even have time to look it over carefully but then again I knew I wanted fried fish. I wasn't offered anything to drink and wasn't sure if they even had a bar.( it does turn out that they have wine and beer). Also I'm not sure how to tip at these kinds of places. There is a person that shows you to a table and then another person that brings the food to your table. Eventually another person showed up to ask if we wanted anything to drink. But since I had already ordered and paid and didn't have any cash...hmmmm. I'd appreciate any advice you Yelpers have. So now the food, It was actually really good! The fish was perfectly cooked, not too much breading and not greasy. The onion rings were great, some of the best I've had and I really enjoyed the slaw. After talking to some people there it turns out that the Captains Platter is the thing to get. It is a huge pile of fried everything! I was actually glad I didn't order it because it was so large. Another thing that I liked was that you could order different portion sizes if you were getting a regular dinner. Oh and by the way, my friend Laura says the fried shrimp is the best. So there you are.

Overrated and overpriced. The food was average, the menu confusing and the dining room was simplistic. Didn't even have a fish-house feel. They brag about flying in fresh fish every day from New England, and that's probably why they are so expensive. Florida fish works for me, and there are many better fish houses in New Smyrna Beach from which to choose. The higher-end Norwood's has better local seafood, better atmosphere and better service for about the same price. Other nearby fish shacks, such as JB's, Ocean's, PJ's and Sea Harvest, are better choices for value, taste, service and portions. Sorry Boston's, but you failed the test.

I am a big fan of Bostons Fish House in Winter Park. I have only been to the NSB location once. We had an early dinner and were seated right after they opened for dinner (they shut down between lunch and dinner- to change the oil I think). I ordered my usual, the snow crab legs. They were obviously leftovers from lunch. They were dried out and stuck to the shell so badly that I finally gave up after about 4 legs.

Fried seafood place, but they have broiled, too. There was a little bit of a line on a Sunday early afternoon. Like previous reviewers mentioned, you gotta make your mind up fast because you order before you sit down. I got the Captain's seafood platter, all fried. I shared with others at the table, but still was plenty full at the end of the meal. I was also a bit tired of "fried" by the end of the meal, but that is a commentary on the dish, and my choice. The fried fish weren't thin filets, which is my pet peeve. They were chunks, but nice and thick. Others at the table ordered various fish, and a bisque, and everyone was satified. Nice (but not huge) variety of beers on tap, which kind of surprised me. We had a little trouble getting service a couple times throughout our meal, but nothing major. Decent local seafood place if you're close, but I wouldn't drive too far to eat there.

This is one of our favorite lunch spots in NSB. My wife loves the lobster rolls or Shrimp rolls, though often opting for the shrimp because the lobster is rather pricey for lunch. I prefer any of the grilled fish dishes over the deep fried, because having tried the fried captains platter it was just way too heavy. The fish is always fresh, and the sides are great too. I like the big onion rings, but the beans are great too. There is not a huge draft beer selection, but have a nice glass of Guiness or Bass and you won't be disappointed. The draft beer is always fresh. By the way, don't be discouraged by the line out the door at dinner time. It moves pretty fast. At Boston's you order at the cashier and then get seated. Somehow it seems to work well and turns the tables over pretty quickly. Enjoy.

Little time waiting, but the food ia definitely worth the wait. Blackened Mahi is really good, my friend's Captains platter is good too, cajun style.

This is a casual local seafood restaurant. You order at a counter, you're seated by a hostess, and then your food is brought to you. The servings are huge, the quality of the fish is good, the service is friendly and efficient, and the meal is reasonably priced.
